To chart or not to chart.
by: Gabe

Hey Man.

Great to here from you.
Where are you now?

As far as the 70's songs go, I would actually recommend just listening to them as much as you can.
Because of your previous education at Musicians Institute, I know you have the chops to play that busy style of drumming.
So, I wouldn't recommend writing it all out.

If some songs have a tricky form just write the form out. You have seen examples of that on my site.
As you know my charts are written for everyone to understand. Your charts can be more skeleton for just you.
I'm imagining that maybe you are talking about some Jimi Hendrix and maybe The Who and Led Zeppelin.

I was lucky enough to have most of those songs put to memory because of my parents tape collections when I was a kid.
I've never used a chart for Jimi or The Who because I just know how they go.

So, if you haven't already, compile all of the songs you need for your band and listen to nothing but that until you simply know them.

Have fun and rock out! - Gabe
